Originally from Central California, Jordan Escobar has been published in over 30 literary journals, including Ploughshares, Copper Nickel, the Adroit Journal, Prairie Schooner, Beloit Poetry Journal, the Common, and many others. After spending many years working in agriculture, his poetry has now been publicly displayed in the Albright-Knox Gallery in Buffalo, NY, the Monesian Arts Center in Watertown, MA and the Boston City Hall. His chapbook “Men With the Throats of Birds” was published through the University of Montana in 2023. He is a 2023 recipient of the Emerging Artist Award from the St. Botolph Club Foundation and a 2022 Djanikian Scholar in Poetry from the Adroit Journal. He has received support from the Community of Writers in Olympic Valley, CA and the Fine Arts Works Center in Provincetown, MA. He is a lecturer at UC San Diego.
